As a working mom, going on a weeklong girlfriend’s getaway is simply beyond relaxing. It was quiet, I had no responsibilities, and no one asked me those day to day questions like “Where’s my shoe? What’s for dinner? Do I have to take a bath again?”
And I have to say, my 40 and Fab partners look my vacation over the top. Thanks to Chevy, the Westin Mission Hills, Precept Wine Brands, Restraurant.com, and Shutterfly my 40th birthday celebration was absolutely divine!
Highlights from our stay at the Westin Mission Hills…
On Day One…
The Westin Mission Hills provided us with a 40 and Fab chocolate birthday cake and birthday card (that was waiting for us when we arrived to our villa). They even provided us with candles and matches. YUM!
On Day Two…
We relaxed all day at the adult only pool!
On Day Three…
I had the opportunity to have lunch with the Westin Mission Hills Marketing Director. We talked about social media, the travel industry, and how bloggers and resorts & spas can best work together. It was a delightful conversation filled with possibilities. One of my greatest take aways from lunch was just how much I loved traveling with brands.
On Day Four…
We had a complementary, out-of-this-world, day at the Spa at Mission Hills. Between the 3 of us, we had 6 stress melting spa services. OMG!!! It was truly an ultimate oasis and I left renewed body, mind, and spirit. In addition to the spa treatments, we also used the therapy Jacuzzi pool, the meditation lounge, and we lounged around the lush relaxing gardens.
Our six spa treatments included…
1. The Bindi Body Treatment – This is an Ayurvedic traditional soothing and healing ritual from India. They used a warm herbal blend and light strokes to relax, cleanse, and detoxify, concluding with a traditional Shirodhara scalp treatment.
2. The Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage – This is a traditional Hawaiian massage using the therapist’s forearms, elbows, knuckles, and thumbs. A series of short, fast-paced, repetitive strokes helped release muscular tension and increase circulation.
3. The Antioxidant Facial – This facial nourished my complexion and is designed to neutralize free radicals and protect skin from environmental damage, leaving it soft, smooth, and radiant.
4. The Lift Facial – This uses epicuren’s enzyme-rich products that stimulate collagen fibers to lift and tone skin, dramatically restoring firmness and elasticity.
5. The Chakra Massage – This massage incorporated gemstones for energy stimulation.
6. The Ice Cream Pedicure – This pedicure included scoops of fizz ball flavors that indulgently exfoliated and relaxed the feet.
After spending the morning at the spa, the Westin Mission Hills provided us with an in room lunch from the Season Grill, which included a chicken wrap, a Southwest salad, and an avocado BLT.
On Day Six…
We were invited to be the Westin’s guests for dinner at Bella Vista. Our table overlooked the beautiful golf course and Palm Spring mountains. We dined on curry shrimp, ravioli, crab cakes, salmon, and steak.

This was one of the most relaxing vacations I’ve had. We all learned a bit about ourselves, and where the next decade may take us! Can’t wait to do it again!!! Each and every partner made a difference and truly appreciate making every day special.
