I recently received a Chevy Traverse to test drive on a recent family road trip to Michigan. Although we celebrate Hanukkah, it felt like Christmas morning the day our shining new red Traverse was delivered to our house.

The Traverse is a stylish, fuel-efficient crossover SUV that receives 24 MPG on the highway and according to General Motors, the Traverse offers better fuel economy than any eight-passenger crossover.

Overall, everyone is my family LOVED this car for different reasons. I loved driving this car for 10 days because it was new, shiny, clean. Yes, it gets a lot of extra points from me for being pretty and luxurious.

Specifically, I liked all of the perks I do not have in my car such as On Star turn-by-turn navigation, XM radio, seat warmers, hands-free calling, leather seats, and a wireless read DVD system. Before test driving this car, I never understood the hype about XM radio. But I was hooked and in love with XM radio within minutes of test driving the car. Did you know XM radio has dedicated stations for spa music, folk music, and even music from the Grateful Dead? Yes, it was love at first site when I discovered XM radio.

My husband loved this crossover SUV because it was family road-trip friendly, fuel efficient on the highway (25 mpg), roomy enough for his long legs, and both smooth and stable on the road. Oh, he also loved the seat warmers and the wireless headsets the boys used while watching their DVDs.

My boys loved this car because it had a DVD system installed in the back seat.

I recommend checking out Chevrolet’s website to read the all about the groovy features and specs of the Traverse.

So…would I buy a Chevy Traverse?

Before test driving the Traverse, I would have told you that my SUV days were over the day I brought my first son home from the hospital. Back then (7 years ago this week) I only thought minivans were for moms and never considered buying an SUV. Now that I spent 10 days playing, living, and driving in GM’s crossover SUV with my boys, I’m definitely open to buying my first General Motors vehicle and purchasing a Traverse when it’s time to replace my minivan.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my current mini-van, but I don’t think I need all of the extra space it provides and it’s not as fuel efficient as the Traverse.

Thank you GM and Chevy for allowing me to test drive the Traverse. We are already missing it!

  • We were also lucky enough to enjoy a Traverse test drive this summer and it was amazing. I felt so pampered by a car. We are looking to get a new car in the spring and it’s on the list!
