Zen Mommies

During the Gary Quinn workshop I attended earlier this spring, I met Deb Hanneman, founder of Zen Mommies, a company dedicated to assisting over-stressed moms of all ages to heal emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

A few days later, we met over the phone and she provided me with a 30 minute Energy Healing Session, which is supposed to promote harmony and balance within, relieving stress and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.

I wasn’t 100% sure what I was going to experience, but loved the idea of focusing on my energy, my chakras, healing, harmony, and stress release.

My Energy Healing Session

I was in a relaxed position while talking to Deb over the phone. There was a lot of silence as she focused on my chakras and then shared her insight. She asked me emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually charged questions. I listened and honestly responded to her. I was as open as I could be to the energy healing process.

When the session was over, Deb encouraged me to be aware of any thoughts, feels, or physical changes in my body over the next few days. I observed, waiting patiently for any ah-ha moments to occur.

My Ah-Ha Moment

Around 16 hours later, an ah-ha moment hit me like a brick. I had made a connection between my childhood and my blogging. It was profound. For me, it was huge.

You see, when I was younger, I was filled with emotions. My cup was overflowing with emotions, feels, thoughts, and ideas. But I didn’t have a way to channel all of this. Kids were talking about the latest trends, music, and boys. Parents were talking about the weather, school, and what we were having for dinner. No one in my world was talking about fears, dreams, emotions, and over analyzing thoughts. The only outlet I was able to find were my diaries.

My diaries were my saving grace. They listened, they let me release everything that was whirling around inside my heart and mind. My diaries allowed me to use my voice, to share all the things other kids and parents weren’t talking about on a day to day basis.

When I first started blogging, it reminded me of my youthful diaries and more recent journals. I’ve been keeping a diary/journal since I was 8 years old and thought it was “so cool” to now have a digital journal….a journal other people can read…a portal for others to see inside my soul.

How cool is that!

I thought I’d share my words, random people across the globe might somehow read them…and that was enough to get me hooked. Little did I know that life changing and soulful connecting experiences and relationships would result. Never did I imagine people would actually REACH OUT to me. When I started blogging, I could not comprehend that my one way journal to the universe would be a social interactive tool to soulfully connect with others first around the world and then face-to-face in my local community.

Back to My Energy Healing Session…

I didn’t know what to expect after my session. I didn’t know how I would feel. But I do know this…

The deep rooted connection between my current blogging and my inner child’s inner voice surfaced brilliantly and rushed over me. The connection I discovered had a profound impact on me. I felt lighter and more joyful. I felt reunited with who I was all those years ago. And I was in awe of my 8 year old self, who somehow knew about the gift of releasing her thoughts, emotions, and feelings down on paper.
