I’m making a lot of big changes these days with my career and want to make sure my home office is in the best position to allow me to I feel alive, relaxed, and happy while I create new, fulfilling work for myself.

So I joined forces with The Neat Company and the NeatDesk to “tame my paper monsters” and created an inviting space that is practically paper free. I’m not close to my dream office yet, but it’s evolving in the right direction.

The NeatDesk helps me remove paper from my home office with its “high-speed desktop scanner and digital filing system” that turns piles of paper into organized digital files.

So far, I have used it to:

  • Organize business cards I receive into a searchable database (A-W-E-S-O-M-E)
  • Create PDFs
  • Manage my business expenses
  • Organize my tax receipts
  • Scan my children’s artwork
  • Make copies of important documents
  • And remove piles of paper that used to be on my desk

You can export data to Excel, Quicken, and TurboTax, but I haven’t done this yet. I’m not a huge fan of the video below, but it does a decent job showing you what the NeatDesk is so you can decide for yourself if it would work for you and creative inspiring workspace.

How do you manage all of the paper that comes into your office space every day?

  • That scanner is a killer!! Bung-Bung, and the software looks great in it’s user interface. I’m glad I came along your post.

  • For someone like me who works at home office, this organizing tools are priceless. But it seems to me that now I need a good method to help me organize the mess on my p.c created by downloading my papers digitally.

  • Why is this genius? Cos it reduces the mess level at your home office along with reducing papers use, and thus environmentally sound.
