This is my first official Mom Renewal Project post.

The Life I Desire

On the first page of The Mother’s Guide to Self-Renewal: How to Reclaim, Rejuvenate and Re-Balance Your Life, Renee Peterson Trudeau describes the life she desires:

“The life I desire is marked by a deep connection to my child and to my partner. It’s a life filled with joy and meaning. It’s a life in which I feel supported and nurtured by an incredible community of women – young and old. I experience regular, meaningful, heartfelt connections with people I care about. I am continually open to growth – as a woman, a mother, a partner, and a spiritual being. I enjoy supporting and serving others in a way that fuels me rather than drains me. I feel that I always have enough time in my life for those things that are most important to me. My life flows, I trust my intuition and I expect good to come to me. I feel peaceful. I am loving, and I feel loved.”

OH MY G-D

The first time I read this explanation of the life Renee desires, I knew (I mean the kind of 100%-no-questions-asked kind-of knew) that Renee and I were somehow connected as women, as moms, and as kindred spirits.

I wondered how she was able to articulate the life I desire.

I want to fuel myself with the love I receive from my children and husband. I want to be in the moment, more often, so it’s easier for me to accept my husband’s unconditional love. I desire a life full of joy and gratitude and without discontent. I want to share my gifts and use my strengths to serve others. I desire a meaningful local community filled with friends, laughter, connection, and support.  I want to continue to grow and continue to connect with my body, mind, spirit, and heart. I want to truly acknowledge what no longer serves me and make the changes I know I need to make in my life. I desire time every single day to listen to my natural inner wisdom and to find even more time each day to take action on what my natural inner wisdom is telling me. I desire the ability to stay in the moment when I’m embracing my life’s adventures and challenges.

My Last General Hospital Comment

I wanted to incorporate my last comments regarding General Hospital into this post. As you have read in my recent General Hospital posts, I love my daily get-a-way to the world of General Hospital. The ironic part is while I am seeking peace and tranquility in my life, I get lost in the drama and turmoil on the show. I suppose getting lost in the stories on General Hospital is simply one way I quiet my mind. If I was able to truly create the life I desire, I think I’d definitely continue watching General Hospital.
