  • This sounds just like the life coaching wheel of life. I’ve done this a few times and it keeps changing. To be brutally honest, here are my current results… Health 7, Career 4, Money freakin’ 0, Family 2, Peace 3, Fun 2, Relationships 2, Fulfillment 4. Not a rosy picture, but I promise I won’t be jumping off a cliff anytime soon. I continue to focus on Money, Career and Relationships… I know the rest will fall into place. This must be what they call the Dark Night of the Soul or something.

  • Interesting exercise!

    Health: 4, Career: 5, Money: 2, Family: 2, Peace: 7, Fun: 4, Relationships: 2, Fulfillment: 4

I have little trouble finding peace with my life in a lot of ways. That is where I find the passion for my blog. Even though there’s not a whole lot in my life right now to be happy about, my existance is peaceful enough that it gives me clarity to know where I want to go in my life.

As for areas to improve on, it’s definitely career, health, and money… in that order. I need to be able to combine my career talents and my desire to help people, because right now, my career does little to help people out. Also, my career has caused me to be sitting all day, and my health has gone downhill. And if I got my money situation better, then I would be able to have more fun, and to go out and socialize more.

I would be curious to see how you would score yourself, Stacey.

Without getting into the details I can use some improvment in most of these areas, but one thing we need to remember is regardless of your number, this is your life now- enjoy it now. We can always improve- you will never have all 10’s and you shouldn’t. We are here to keep improving and Stacey is a great voice to remind us of that. Thank you!

  • This is fun.

Health 9 (as far as I know!), Career 8, Money 8, Family 10, Peace 4,
    Fun 7, Relationships 8, Fulfillment 9.

Focusing on finding peace and on having more fun.

    I like Jay’s comment.

  • Thanks Jay for your commentary. I think I’ll use “other” to add Being Aware/In the Moment.

Here’s my list…Health 7 (I am living a healthy life style, but need to exercise more), Career 8, Money 8 (note: I don’t own a home), Family 9, Peace 8, Fun 5, Relationships 5 (I have wonderful people in my life and need to spend more time nurturing my relationships), and Being Aware/In the Moment 7.

I am focusing on having more fun, exercising, and nurturing relationships.

  • Hi Stacey

I must admit how I always marvel at people’s openness. I’m afraid I’m not bold enough to share 😉
I like that you’ve chosen words such as “peace” and “fulfilment” instead of the more general (and difficult) categories of “emotional” or “spiritual” etc. And “fun” is so important, yet so often forgotten!

  • They all are important for me but my 3 priorities are:
    Becoming debt free.
    Being more creative.
Spending more time with my kids and family.
    Great post. keep them coming!

  • I do this exercise every couple of years and it is worth the time it takes.

    Health: 8, Career: 6, Money: 7, Family: 9, Peace: 8, Fun: 7, Relationships: 7, Fulfillment: 7
Health – fit, strong, full of energy but carrying a few extra kilos
Career – frustrated by the institution i work for but the essentials of my job. cutting edge of my spiritual practice is at work not on the cushion
    Money: middle class comfort
peace: most places except in my head
Fun: need a little more – shame my sister lives in portland OR
relationships: improving all the time. lucky to have a man who is willing to go the distance on the inner work
Fufillment – a sense of just bringing it together…all the pieces falling into place. patience and attentiveness now paramount.

What’s not asked – the other:
Relationship with self – to quote the beatles – getting better all the time.
    Learning – i just can’t help myself – thx to Nobody’s Angel

    Optimism: abounding

  • I think of my life frame as a set of hot spots (mind, body, emotions, career, financial, relationships, fun) and I invest across them.

Before I had the frame I spent too much or too little in some areas. Having a mental model makes it much easier for me to quickly check my portfolio and spend some more life force or less where needed. In the ideal case, the categories support and compliment each other. In other words, if I have to work too hard at growing my mind, it means something is off at work.

  • Unfortunately for me all of those subjects were nowhere near a 10! My problem is that I’ve never really set goals before and don’t know how! I don’t know what accomplishing a goal really feels like. This is something I’ve struggled with for the last few years and no one has been able to help me yet.
