The concepts of Accountability and Intention, in relation to living your best life and practicing the art of life balance, are very intriguing to me.

How can we hold ourselves accountable for incorporating what matters most into our lives?

How can we live our lives with intention each day?

Are some people naturally more capable of keeping themselves accountable or simply find it natural to live with intention? Are these characteristics primarily a result of nature versus nurture? Is it based on our upbringing or a reflection of our day-to-day lives?

I clearly want to live each day with intention…but living with intention clearly does not come naturally to me.

I simply have too many things running in and out of my brain to naturally remember to live with intention. I have too many things going on, too many roles to play (I do count my blessings for most of the roles I get to play), and too much media flashing before my eyes to always remember to live each moment with intention. Since living with intention does not come naturally to me, I am always seeking the best solutions to help live with intention. Eventually, CreateaBalance.com will be the leading source for providing the best tools and resources to help other people live with intention too (that is one of my greatest intentions).

So far, here’s what I know helps people like me who are living-with-intention challenged.

1. Write down your intentions.

2. Post your intentions where you can see them throughout the day.

3. Ask for help. Ask people or use tools/technology to remind you of your intentions throughout the day.

4. Learn how other people are choosing to live with intention.

5. Make sure your intentions are realistic and if needed, create micro-intentions (baby steps are still steps).

6. Write down (or tell someone) why your intentions are important to you.

7. Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize so you can find the time to act on your intentions.

My intention today is to get all of my work done so I can spend fun quality time with my extened family.

What’s your secret to living your life with intention?

When it comes to working out, I partner with a friend (she has the same work out intentions as me). So #3 above seems to work for me.

I usually write down my weekly goals and post them on my frig. My goals are my intentions for the week.

  • @Nadia – Good for you. Writing things down is not always an easy task.

@Rose – The power of friendship is truly remarkable. #3 works for me too.

My intention is to limit my evening computer time Monday – Friday. I can relate to #1 and #2 above, because I created a huge sign stating my intention and posted it next to my computer. It has helped me walk away from the computer several times.

Intention? My intention is to figure out my intentions. Running around like a chicken can not possibly be my true intention. I’m going to focus on #5 above and see if I can find some baby steps. Thanks Stacey.
