This is my second monthly life balance report on CreateaBalance.com. I still have not found the best way to quantify my life balance success (the million dollar question) so I’m staying with the instinctual and less mathematical approach for June. This month I am going to use the 5 star method.

Here are June’s Results:

EMBRACING MY SELF

Creative Energy: I played with more of my creative writing styles in June. I bought new fun colorful markers that truly sparked my creative juices.  I also started painting on a regular basis. I have been in painter’s block mode for years and primarily blamed it on not having the ideal painting setup in my home. The thought of having to pull out all of my painting materials and spreading out all of my paints, brushes, and paper across the table was too overwhelming for me.

garden2 So in June I did a Google search for “paint brush pens” and surprisingly found an assortment of paint pens across the web. These pens are providing me with mess-free easy to manage painting extravaganzas.

My intention is to soon sell my life balance related paintings online.

My favorite paint brush pens are Bienfang Watercolor Brush Pens and Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

Travel: I took my annual summer family vacation to Traverse City, Michigan. The weekend was filled with lots of trampoline jumping, rock skipping, and relaxing coffee moments overlooking Grand Traverse Bay.

We are blessed to have wonderful family there who make our trip exceptionally special.

Blogging: I am happy with the quality of my June posts. I think I am getting more and more comfortable embracing an authentic writing style and am slowing establishing my own writing practice. Two more people subscribed to my RSS feed in June (slow and steady is fine by me). Click here to subscribe to my RSS feed.

NURTURING RELATIONSHIPS

Family: June was all about being with my family and playing outside. It was a month full of lots of picnics, tennis, go-carting, swimming, and good old fashion fun in the sun. I wish the summer could last all year.

Creative Community: I did not have any luck finding an already established writing group in my area. So I spent the month of June trying to build my own writing group. So far, I have 5 people interested in joining my group. I’m hoping to have my first group meeting by mid-August (See my Succulent Wild Writers Group post for more details).

MONITORING WELL BEING

scaleExercise: I continued to work out 3-5 days a week in June. I experimented with new classes such as kickboxing and pilates. It may not have been pretty, but it’s getting the job done. People are actually starting to notice my weight loss instead of asking me if the baby is kicking? Are there any other NON-pregnant moms out there that are constantly being asked if they are pregnant?

Weight: My goal was to lose 4 pounds in June. I am happy to report that I lost 3.4 pounds. I’m going to keep my goal of losing 4 more pounds during the month of July.

STAYING ORGANIZED

laundry I’m speechless and still a disaster.

As you can tell from my Intention of Simplifying post, I have no problem pleading and begging for you to leave comments on this blog. Would love to hear how your practice of life balance is going!

I appreciate your honesty about being organized challenged. Looks like you are doing a great job, however, clearly out all of your mental clutter. Sometimes that is half the battle. Do you think you can have life balance in the mist of clutter chaos?

When I read “I am speechless and still a disaster.” I belly-laughed out loud. Love and appreciate your honesty, as I am still a disaster in several areas. 🙂

  • @Charles – I will ponder that question over the weekend.

@Jennifer – Thanks for the comment. You know I am your biggest fan!
